NOTES:
NOTES FOR VENDORS:
We receive a large amount of material for the auction from a wide range of different people.
Some are regulars – supplying lots each auction - whilst others are more ad hoc with a few now and then.
Regardless of this it is worth reminding everyone of a few guidelines:
- The minimum lot value is £10 – ideally more but not less.
- Lots should be clearly marked 1, 2, 3, etc and have the vendors name/initials on each.
- A summary listing should be provided with vendor name and address on it.
- We will break down material and lot it for you if required.
- Reserves should be sensible given the type of material, condition, catalogue value etc,.
- As a rule of thumb un-mounted mint material is best priced at about 20 – 25% of catalogue value
- As a rule of thumb used material is best priced at about 5 – 10% of catalogue value
- Allowance should be made for the level of duplication, is the lot tidily laid out etc,.
We will try and reserve material at prices we think will sell – there is no point in doing anything else! Where we disagree with a Vendor’s reserve we will call to discuss this with you.
Due to increased workload these dates cut off dates must be strictly adhered to going foward.
Please see the dates for future auctions below:
- Lots for the February 2010 Auction to be with us by Wednesday 30th December 2009.
- Lots for the April 2010 Auction to be with us by Friday 26th February 2010.
- Lots for the June 2010 Auction to be with us by Thursday 30th April 2010.
Payment to Vendor’s is usually 2 – 3 weeks after the auction – a very quick turnaround compared to many others.
Please note that we cannot guarantee to place material received in the next auction. It will be placed
in an auction as soon as possible and we will take every effort to minimise delays.
